We started as Murchison Drilling Schools with our Drilling Technology courses which we have adapted to the Well Academy Quality Standards.
As Well Academy Murchison we have a wide range of courses including accredited IWCF and IADC Drilling Well Control courses from introduction to advanced levels. With our affiliate company ModuSpec ModuSpec Deepwater Subsea, we are leading the development of scenario-based training incorporating subsea operations.
Our professional trainers have rich expertise in drilling and well operations. They are passionate about improving the competency and confidence of those attending classes. Our trainers engage participants in discussing everyday scenarios and placing our invaluable training into context for real world application.
Our Training Facility in Houston
Our office in the Houston Energy Corridor houses state-of-the-art training facilities in addition to our Real Time Monitoring Centre where we monitor subsea equipment 24/7.
We opened our Houston Training Center in 2012 in Stafford and in early 2017, relocated to the "Energy Corridor" in the Katy area. October 2022 we moved into our to our new location at 1311 Broadfield Blvd., Houston, TX. Our instructors, Rickey Hendrix, Rob Tyre, John Breidenthal, Willie Lyon, Charles Ubaru, Cecil Duke and Gordon Poss are highly experienced and lead operational drilling and well control classes at the Houston Training Center, Colorado area, and by requested, at your offices.
In-House / Custom Training
Many of our courses can be delivered at a client’s office to an in-house group. We can also customize many of our courses to meet specific training needs.

Accommodations & Transportation
Students are responsible for arranging their own accommodations and transportation. Well Academy Murchison - Houston has a negotiated rate of $75.00 per night at the Hampton Inn & Suites, conveniently located at 18014 Park Row Dr, Houston.
If you prefer, you also have the option to stay at the Residence Inn Houston I-10 West / Park Row (1550 Barker Cypress Rd.) which provides Well Academy Murchison with a rate of $87.00 per night.
Reservations can be made online and additional details will be provided to registered students.
