Well Control Equipment Course

Our Well Control Equipment Course has been specially developed for those who wish to gain an understanding of well control equipment and systems on drilling rigs. The course explains the correct inspection and maintenance procedures needed to ensure integrity and compliance.

  • Level 1 (3 days) – Aimed at those in onshore positions who require knowledge of BOP and well control equipment, without having a hands-on role.
  • Level 2 (5 days) – Aimed at those in onshore or offshore who require knowledge of BOP and well control equipment and are or have been part of a rig maintenance crew looking after the equipment in a hands-on role.
Hands On BOP training

Hands-On BOP Course

Our Hands-On BOP Course presents the BOP found on surface rigs.

The workshop equips candidates with overall knowledge of surface well control equipment, explains the most common faults of BOPs on surface rigs and introduces basic maintenance procedures with a focus on safe working practices. The course is held in a workshop with access to a physical BOP to allow candidates to perform maintenance procedures as part of the course.

Subsea competency assessments

Our proprietary competency-based assessment program identifies gaps in crew competencies by utilising methods perfected by the US Navy’s submarine qualification boards which assesses crew members on four levels of knowledge:

  1. Demonstrating knowledge and understanding
  2. Critical thinking skills
  3. Problem solving skills
  4. Performance of procedures and demonstrating techniques
