Our foundation is built on the legacy of three respected training schools, each with decades of experience and a reputation for excellence in their regions:
- Murchison Drilling Schools (est. 1977): Founded in the US by Bill Murchison Snr. who developed industry-recognised drilling operational training programs at the request of major oil and service companies.
- WellTrain (est. 1997): Established in Australia with the launch of the National Drilling and Well Control Program, culminating in a network of well control training centres across Australasia.
- The Well Academy (est. 2012): Founded in the Netherlands by oil & gas professionals passionate about improving well operations performance – a leader in scenario-based well control training.
Today, Well Academy continues to evolve – now also delivering technical rig equipment training developed by our sister company ModuSpec. These industry renowned programs focus on inspection, rig commissioning and equipment integrity, further strengthening our portfolio and supporting safe and efficient operations across the well lifecycle.
